(Well, for the blog anyway. This was on my Etsy for a few weeks now, I just hadn’t been able to get it in the queue, sorry!)
When I ordered my proofs for the Stitchimari fabric, I wanted to make a new made-to-order item for the shop, and decided since it’s close to scarf weather again, why not an infinity scarf? I’m really pleased with how this turned out and am considering on making a fleece muffler with one of the other designs for something more gender-neutral. Also gotta start on holiday gifts soon anyway so…
The chiffon worked really well for this lightweight, feminine scarf, and the design still comes out just as crisp and bright. If you’d like a scarf with a different design as seen on both my Etsy or Spoonflower, or a different fabric please let me know! I can also make one that isn’t connected, like a regular scarf or muffler.
It’s been an eventful week here for B.M.D. Studios! My Pachimari proofs came in earlier along the week and these are definitely my best work yet!
The fabric here is a little different compared to my other proofs; I wanted to make an infinity scarf out of them this time, so I ordered them in fat quarters, and also in their chiffon. I used a white backdrop to have the pattern show better as a result. If you’re ordering in a sturdier fabric like cotton or twill, the design will still show up just as bright and bold as the others in my collections, so don’t worry!
Once my scarf is done, I hope to photograph it as a sample for made-to-orders on Etsy! I’m trying to do different things than zip pouches, though I have no problem still making those!
I also am working on my next tutorial (possible freebie?). You can see a sneak peek of part of what it looks like below!
How’s everyone this summer? I’ve been busy experimenting with Affinity Designer, as well as new pattern creations for the shop. I finally got the hang of seamless tiling at last, and my next design is my best one yet! I may even go back to some of my older designs and respin those :).
My Pachimari pattern is all set for some proofs, and I ordered myself fat quarters so I could turn the proofs into a really cute infinity scarf! I went for a fun sewing/plushie theme in this design. I’m stoked to see how it turns out in person!
As of the retro gaming expo next weekend, my committee was unable to cover enough staffing for our table, so we had to decline the offer. I will still be attending on the Sunday as Mitsuru, but now as a regular attendee! I haven’t been to the expo in a while so I’m curious to see how they’ve expanded.
That aside, I am still waiting anxiously on Kinokuniya’s contest that I entered last month, as this will determine if I’m able to put that design in my shop as well! There were so many amazing entries though…I’m not sure if I will get chosen but I wish everyone luck regardless!
